An elderly woman was spotted driving around the city of Novorossiysk, Russia with a German Shepherd tied with a rope to the back of her vehicle.
A security camera from one residence caught the woman red handed; when the homeowner reviewed the footage, he couldn’t believe his eyes and headed straight to the police station to denounce the incident.
The woman was driving a brown Honda Accord vehicle. Authorities wasted no time in identifying the perpetrator, but her name has not been made public up to this point.
During an interview with police, the woman tried to downplay the incident, claiming she was only trying to scare her granddaughter.
It is unclear how dragging a harmless dog behind her vehicle for miles could achieve that, but judging by her attitude she couldn’t care less about her victim.
Meanwhile, the dog arrived at a veterinary clinic with several leg fractures and bruises all over his body. He is expected to make a full recovery and will be put up for adoption to a new family that will love and cherish him.
According to current laws, this evil grandmother could face up to 480 hours of community work or a maximum penalty of up to two years imprisonment or a fine of up to 300k rubles (about $5, 300).
Please take action against this cruel grandmother and urge authorities to set an example out of this woman and impose the maximum penaly of two years in jail.
A clear cut message must be sent to the public that such actions will never be tolerated under any circumstances. Please help us get justice for this innocent pet dog that has suffered so much in the hands of this insane lady.
